June Goals

Clearly I spoke too soon with my May goals, as soon as I wrote about how well I was doing blogging nearly everyday...I stopped. So I think this month I'll try not to count my goals until the end of the month, lol. 1. Find new bank (long store short I became very unhappy after I tried to clear up a problem with my current bank and they just tried to sign me up for a credit card instead...so suggestions are welcome) 2. Go to the gym 3 times...I swear I'm going to find where the company gym is again! 3. Finish putting away winter clothes-this has been a slow and tedious process...I need to just do it so I can stop having a whole year's worth of clothes strewn about my bedroom floor. 4. Blog Once/week. Anyone else have any goals they think I should tackle, another one on my back burner is to start working more on my 101 in 1001 things that I haven't really been focusing on...its been sad and lonely lately!

May Goals Recap

May goals:  1. The KIND Project-one kindness everyday.  2. Word Count Blog-a-thon 3. Plant seedlings in garden plot 4. Take the "pump" test at work to get upgraded to CSR Level 2 Recap:  1. I think so far I've done pretty well.  I don't think I've written about a KIND-ness everyday but I feel like I've been making a point to do things for people and make the world a better place, so we're going to call that a win.   2. I have not blogged everyday, but considering how much is going on, I think only missing a few days is pretty impressive, I really only forgot one day, the other days I just didn't have access to blog-ness 3. I finished the last of my planting yesterday...hopefully my garden yields lots of deliciousness! 4. I took the pump test about two weeks ago and I should have the results hopefully tomorrow!

Goals Update

So for those of you who know me you have probably realized that I pretty much completely failed at my April goals. Go to the gym- 0 times Deliver my sister's birthday gift- SUCCESS!  Get my seedlings in the dirt- Done!  AND I repotted them! Get my apartment respectable- Done (barely within April but done!) Blog once/week- Or never.  Complete crafting project- I don't think I even started one... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May goals:  1. The KIND Project-one kindness everyday.  2. Word Count Blog-a-thon 3. Plant seedlings in garden plot 4. Take the "pump" test at work to get upgraded to CSR Level 2 Today's KIND-ness I sent my sister a Mother's day card.  I know it sounds silly to send one to your sister-but I read this card today and it was too perfect.  So I'm sending it to my sister because I know it will make her day.

The KIND Project.

The past few weeks I have been less than social-and I haven't exactly been a nice person. I got angry with my friends for being selfish and self-centered and then I realized that I was getting back from my friends the same thing that I had been dishing out lately.   We live in a world that is all about ourselves.  We use Facebook to post about our lives, we post on Twitter play-by-plays of our every moment.  And I feel that this has made us forget about being good to one another.  There are tons of different projects out there that illustrate my vision of the emphasis on kindness that I feel that I have lost.   Random Acts of Kindness , The Kindness Project , The Human Kindness Project,   etc.    But I feel that I want to emphasize something a little different so I'm going to call my "The Kind Project".  KIND ="Kindness (in) Individuals (is) Necessary Daily.   My May goal and daily assignment is to do at least ...

May is Mental Health Month!

For those of you who don't know me very well you may be surprised that I'm writing about this topic.  May is Mental Health Month and I think this is HUGE!   I was diagnosed with depression when I was a junior in High School however, the signs and symptoms had followed me around for a majority of my life.  I truly believe my life has been saved through treatment and I want to encourage anyone who feels they need help to seek it out! 1 in 4 adult Americans live with some sort of treatable mental illness and not all of them are getting help!  So if that person is you or someone you love make sure you do them and yourself a favor and SAY SOMETHING!  SEEK HELP!  ITS OK!   Check out Mental Health America's website to learn more about 1 in 4 or go to www.liveyourlifewell.org to find hints and tips to help you deal with stress and have a better more productive life.   Check out previous and future posts for more about my own mental health...

My 1st Blog-A-Thon!

I have never before participated in any sort of "blog-a-thon."  I currently haven't been posting much at all because my access to internet has been solely from my office computer.  Today's post is brought to you by a bicycle trip to campus and most likely a rainy trip back judging by the sky. So I would like to say thank you to WordCount for their annual blogging event and whatever article they wrote (I now can't remember what it was) that lead me to their site and allowed me to find out about this blog-a-thon!  Thanks to Michelle Rafter's post 25 ways to blog every day I have created a contingency plan for how I am going to write a blog every day this month!  So feel free to read below if you're interested and HOLD ME ACCOUNTABLE and make sure that I do this!  WordCount 2011 Blog-a-thon Plan: May 1st- 1st Day/Contingency Plan May 4th- Theme Day #1 "My top 5 favorite books on writing are..."
