New Year's Resolutions 2017

I've always been terrible at these, and like many other years they will probably last approximately a month and a half.  No matter how long they last I think its important to think about the year ahead and set some intentions in the hopes of moving forward in the coming 12 months.   1. Get Moving.  Josh and I are the proud parents of a very energetic five-year old fur baby.  Honestly, I let him do nearly all the walks and am therefore missing out on a lot of action that my body needs.  So its time to strap on the FitBit and get moving.   2. Write.  As part of focusing on my side hustle in 2017 I want to work on my blog as well.  I really enjoy showing off my work and this is just another avenue I can do that in, not to mention the catharsis of writing.   3. Save.  I'm terrible with money, I mean really horrible.  Costs are increasing dramatically and my raise is frankly not going to cover all the new expenses, so its time t...

Just Checking In

I know I missed last week but I promise I'm working on this blogging once/week thing.  I am working on some new stuff for a craft show this coming weekend so stay tuned for my second craft show experience and some new things to show off.  In other news my car is going into the shop tomorrow, so send good juju my way so that Ethel gets to feeling better soon!

New Year's Resolutions

So I was going to be super chic and jump on the Mantra/one-word New Years Resolution thing but I'll be honest, I really gave it some thought and I could not come up with one word or idea that I wanted to focus on this year.  I mean sure you could say the wedding, but Josh and I's lives are so much more than one day or celebration.  So here is my LIST of goals for 2016.  Keep in mind I also try to have goals for each month to keep me rollin'. 1. Make my Y Membership worth what I pay for it -No I am not going on some crazy wedding weight loss stint, I just don't want to be winded every time I take the stairs! 2. Blog once per week 3. Read 24 books 4. Manage my Depression -This includes smaller goals including     a. See a therapist     b. Work out my medication     c. Find an outlet 5. Get Married! I think that's everything!  Here we go 2016!

101 in 1001 New Year's Update

Instead of New Year's Resolutions I really want to work on my 101 in 1001 since I only have 9 months left to go!  So here's an update!   Jessica's 101 in 1001 Start: January 1st, 2011 End: September 28th, 2013 Personal 1. Keep a written journal (regularly) 2. Blog at least once a week for a month (hopefully forever) Completed my Wordcount Blog-a-thon challenge! 3. Write personal (and professional) goals for each month and work to achieve them (22/33) I kind of skipped out on this in November & December 2011-but I feel like getting a new job, moving and getting permanently hired on count enough! 4. Change my bathroom inspiration quotes once a week (for at least a month)   5. Write something positive about my day every night for at least two weeks 6. Make a meal out of all local ingredients 7. Spend an hour of "me-time" a week that does not involve TV 8. Take a self defense class 9. Go to a Bible study (must try for at least a month) 10. Watch a sunrise  11. ...
